Atkore Marco has made a journey into the wilderness with this project specification, supplying products as part of a refurbishment at the giraffe enclosure at Woburn Safari Park. 

The animals’ sleeping quarters, part of Giraffe Junction, are enjoying an overhaul and a new electrical installation has formed part of the plans with Atkore Marco’s Steel Wire Cable Tray utilised throughout. 

Technical Sales Manager for Atkore Marco, commented: “We see our products used in a diverse range of schemes and projects but this undoubtedly is one of the most different we’ve seen to date! 

“I’m pleased to say the project is complete and the giraffes are happily settled into their upgraded enclosure complete with Atkore Marco products. This installation undoubtedly demonstrates the versatility of the Marco range, showcasing the functional and practical nature, in this case of our steel wire cable tray.” 

Woburn Safari Park is home to a large breeding herd of Rothschild giraffe which can be seen at Giraffe Junction. The herd is given the freedom to roam in their seven acre exhibit, which they share with the Grevy’s Zebra and a herd of Scimitar Horned Oryx. 

They are housed at night in Giraffe Junction, however, during the warm summer months the giraffe herd are able stay out in their large exhibit 24 hours a day.
