A £97million commercial development in the heart of London is approaching completion, with Marco supplying large volumes of steel wire cable tray to contractor Deltech.

One New Street represents the latest commercial scheme to make its mark on the capital. Lead by main contractor, Skanska, on behalf of Land Securities, the 20-storey building sits in the Holborn area of Central London.

Skanska has been able to use its expertise in construction, mechanical and electrical engineering, including the installation of bespoke ceilings, to deliver the modern office building.

Electrical contractor Deltech carried out the large scale installation, opting for Marco’s steel wire cable tray throughout.

Steve Davis, National Business Development Manager at Marco Cable Management commented: “This is a hi-tech, state of the art building that will hold an incredibly high data capacity, futureproofing the electrical installation for many years to come. Deltech was able to use our cable containment solution to house the entire network infrastructure throughout One New Street, showcasing the ability of our products.”

Amongst the prominent features of the new development are two basement levels with parking and changing facilities for tenants; an upper ground floor with a reception area, retail units and a loading bay; commercial office space over 14 floors; and two rooftop plant levels.

The scheme achieved BREEAM Excellent rating, using sustainable approaches such as efficient use of water and energy, minimising waste and maximum use of zero carbon materials during the construction period. Additionally, the building will have a bespoke glazed-framed unitised cladding system with solar shading fin features.
