    uPVC Trunking with DDA compliance

The completion of a new teaching block at Canterbury Academy has seen the inclusion of a number of Marco products incorporating a bespoke specification and DDA compliance.

The building incudes 14 general teaching classrooms and a drama space together with alterations to the existing building to provide an additional food-technology classroom and two additional science labs.

Contractor PA Grant has managed the installation, having utilised Marco’s products at several other schemes across the South.

The firm has specified Marco’s trunking with a light grey lid to achieve DDA compliancy whilst the trunking has also been specified in a charcoal finish to compliment the new drama room.

Luke Kellaher, Area Sales Manager at Marco Cable Management explained: “The contractor recognised the versatility of our products and appreciates that we are able to offer both standard and bespoke variations on our core product ranges. Here, it was important that PA Electrical achieved DDA compliancy whilst a charcoal finish was integral to the surrounding design of a specific area.”

The new building is connected to the existing ‘John Tyler Building’ at ground floor level via a new semi-glazed link corridor. At three stories in height, the building matches the adjacent school and was constructed in two phases.
