Work is gathering momentum at a new multi-million pound civic hub in the centre of Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Scheduled to open in June 2017, the £15.4 million building will house Newcastle-under-Lyme borough council and county council staff, as well as members of Staffordshire Police and a new library.

Contractor ICD has used Marco’s steel wire cable tray across the scheme, capitalising on the firm’s latest fast-fix product, the Quik-Clik system.

Kate Knox, Key Accounts Manager at Marco Cable Management explained: “ICD has chosen to use our Quik-Clik system, which consists of a length of tray coupled with the new MCFJC accessory pre-attached as standard, allowing for faster on-site installation.”

Designed to be flexible, the Quik-Clik system can easily be removed and re-attached if required, retaining its usability when cutting lengths down to size. Another key feature of the Quik-Clik system is in its design, its fast fix installation ensures a strong and secure fit, without the use of additional mechanical parts, tools or the need for nuts and bolts.

Kate continued: “This is a relatively new concept for Marco but one that is being embraced by many of our clients. We've had great feedback from ICD at this project who feel that the adaptation of the Quik-Clik with the steel wire cable tray has both simplified and sped up the cable containment installation process.”

The development of The Hub forms part of a £40 million investment in the town centre, as the existing council buildings will be cleared to make way for new retail units and student accommodation.
