GREENBANK STUDENT VILLAGE, LIVERPOOL
Atkore Marco has supplied steel wire cable tray and pre-cut uPVC trunking lengths to contractors on site at the ambitious Greenbank Student Village in Liverpool.
Managed by Liverpool University, the vast suite includes 1,370 student bedrooms, a two-storey sports hall and a sports pavilion developed following the demolition of a series of existing buildings. Much of the design has been based around a modular and prefabricated approach, the Marco products fitting perfectly with this ethos, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
Atkore Marco’s two core ranges have been utilised across the site in phases. Area Sales Manager at Atkore Marco explained: “This is a huge development for a leading university, creating a village style development that will house a significant number of students.
“The M&E infrastructure has formed an important part of the design and our cable containment products chosen to house the complex cabling network. Not only are we able to supply the ceiling and wall containment but our trunking has also been utilised throughout, the bright white and curved aesthetics blending perfectly in this type of setting.
“We’ve also been able to supply the trunking in bespoke pre-cut lengths which ties in with the wider prefabricated approach significantly reducing costs and time spent on site.
“We are increasingly seeing contractors utilise Marco as a single source provider of cable management as is the case here at the prestigious Greenbank Student Village.”
The £90million package of redevelopment at Greenbank has taken into consideration the wider environment and architectural mix where existing listed buildings have been incorporated into the project. The materials, scale and massing of the design have been developed to reflect the character of the conservation area and respect the distinctive mature landscape of the Greenback site.
